2016 All Candidates Forum

Mike first ran as a candidate for Morden-Winkler in the 2016 Provincial Election. Initially calling the Green Party of Manitoba to see if he could volunteer, he was instead met with encouragement and convinced to take on the responsibility of running. 

In 2016, Mike, along with the Green Party of Manitoba, was focused on a 4 pillar platform:

1. Reduce Poverty in our riding and province as a whole. 
2. Separate the Education Tax from Property Tax in order to more effectively distribute funds. 
3. Bolster our economic standing through balanced budgets, tax reform, and accessible training or re-training for green jobs.
4. Planning for a sustainable future, not only through investment in clean energy. Sustainability also refers to ensuring our business practices, social services, and tax models function are practical , efficient, and effective long-term.
